Imants Deep Spader

The Imants deep spader is a machine which works the soil to depths below 70cm (28″). The machine is used to break up compacted soil layers and to mix the soil throughly, making it ideal for special soil preparations and vegtable crops.

In some circumstances it is necessary to loosen the soil at extreme depths, this could be where there are compacted layers in the subsoil, or if one wants to mix soil layers of different compositions, clay with sand for example. Or in asparagus fields too, where the asparagus plants will be growing for a long time on the same piece of ground, the subsoil must usually be loosened to a depth of 100 centimeters to give the asparagus roots a chance to spread.
